The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) has officially launched the REALTOR.ca open offer system across Canada, allowing realtors and prospective buyers to access real-time offer tracking on a property’s listing page. However, the amount of information displayed about the offers will depend on seller preferences and provincial regulations, with some provinces prohibiting the disclosure of dollar amounts of competing offers. The program also includes voluntary opt-in levels of transparency in partnership with Australian property technology company Openn. All offers must be submitted by a realtor who has signed up for Openn’s service. The rollout follows a successful pilot program in select Canadian markets in late 2022 and early 2023.
